Grandma Peterson
My grandmother, Joyce Peterson, passed away on December 22, 2015. In the days leading up to that day, we knew she was sick and had been put on Hospice, and we decided to change our plans of having the Paces and Sieverts come to Waco for Christmas. Instead, our family went to Albuquerque. We got there on the afternoon of December 21, 2015. I thought that I might wait until the next morning to go visit Grandma, but my brother urged me to go that night. I am so glad that I did. My grandma was unresponsive, much like my mom in her last days. However, I had that joy of praying over her, holding her hand, telling her "see you soon", and kissing her forehead. I am thankful that God gave me those moments. Grandma passed away at midnight that evening. She is now in Heaven with Jesus and with my mom, her own daughter. I am jealous of the reunion that they are having, but we all find such comfort and expectation in the promise that some day we will all be together again!
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11
Death never feels right or makes sense here on earth, but Jesus paid the price for our sins! If we accept Jesus, God promises to make us new someday. On that day, the pain and trouble of this life will be taken away, and we will be reunited with our loved ones and with God! Then we will know God face to face!
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
"For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Corinthians 13:12
Christmas Round 1: Waco
Because of an unexpected change of plans, we traveled to Albuquerque for Christmas. I had not planned on having to bring gifts in the car, so the kids opened several of their gifts at home before we left. They were very surprised and happy to find that Santa came early with gifts for them!
Caleb got a set of plank blocks, that are all the exact same size. All of the kids had fun playing with these. I am guessing that Caleb will be asking for more of them soon. Luke got his very own Baylor football uniform. He is ecstatic about his uniform and wants to play football in the yard all of the time!

Abby got a horse for her dolls and a dry erase/ chalkboard easel.

Thanksgiving 2015
This year we spend the week of Thanksgiving in Phoenix visiting Tim, Rhonda, and the SoCal Capron family. We had little daily adventures for the kids, lots of trips to the park, lots of yummy foot, and plenty of time to relax. The cousins all played so well together! I love watching their friendships develop trip by trip.

One of the fun kids' activities was a trip to the art store. Gigi bought each of them an art supply of their choice, and then we had an art party in the garage.
The kids also got to decorate the Capron's Christmas tree.
