Caleb has had two "bm"s in the potty! This is a major accomplishment for him! He got lots and lots of chocolate chips, and he got to open his mystery car. He has been carrying the mystery car around with him everywhere that we have gone for the past two days, and yesterday he fished the box that it came in out of the trash. He is quite delighted with his success and even more delighted with the chocolate morsels. Mommy is very proud and happy too!

Family Time

After a quick trip to "the DQ" for ice cream, everyone was in great spirits tonight. It was 90 degrees instead of 95 degrees around 7pm, so we got some playtime outside. Here is what everyone was up to:

Abby was happy in her bouncy seat for awhile, that was until the gnats and mosquitoes started coming out. Check out her chompers!

Caleb and Jon worked on their basketball skills and later rode bikes in the driveway. Doesn't Caleb look ENORMOUS in this picture. What happened to my little preemie?

And me- I manned the camera and was on sprinkler duty!

Abby at 6 Months

Abby is a half of a year old! What a quick and busy half of a year it has been. Here are some of the things that Abby has been up to lately:
-She is starting to sit up by herself a little bit
-She reacts with a smile when she sees Caleb or Heidi. She leans forward to Heidi and reaches out to pet her.
-She is still a cuddler and would like to be held 100% of the time. Often times, she prefers to be held while I walk around doing household chores over being held by me and playing with a toy.
-She is loving the jumperoo more and more. This is a good thing to keep her entertained!
-She loves to eat! She has tried out peas, rice and oatmeal cereal, green beans, squash, sweet potato, peaches, bananas, and applesauce.
-She is still having some issues with sleeping through the night. We tried crying it out several weeks ago, had some quick success and some good sleeping nights, went to Albuquerque, and now we are back to waking up a lot at night. It is a work in progress, and I am trying to not feel bad about the paper from the doctor that reads, "Most babies sleep through the night by 4 months, and they should be sleeping through the night by 6 months." I have tried to be careful about putting her to sleep drowsy but awake her whole life, but she is still waking up and crying way too much in the middle of night... okay enough about that!
-Abby got her two bottom teeth this past month.
-Lastly, Abby's favorite game is to have a dance party. She especially thinks that dad is hilarious. She loves to be held by mom and swung about while dad dances around us. We get lots of smiles, laughs, and squeals from her!

Lastly, here are her six month stats:
Weight: 14 pounds, 8 ounces- 25th percentile
Height: 26 3/4 inches- 75th percentile
Head Circumference: 43cm- 70th percentile

Monroes Cousins

While in Albuquerque, one our most recent favorite places to eat New Mexican food is at Monroes. This last visit they gave Abby and Merek t-shirts. Here is what happened when we tried to take a few pictures of the two cousins in their new shirts...

Everything okay so far...Merek sees something he likes...He goes in for the steal! The moms and Grammy straighten everyone up again and take as many pictures as we can as fast as possible!

Feeding the Chickens in Tres Piedras

While we were visiting Jon's mom in Tres Piedras, Caleb got to feed the chickens! There were quite a large group of them, and Caleb was very cautious and pensive about the experience.

Grandma Peters, Daddy, and Caleb hold food out for the chickens.

Caleb feels a little nervous about all these birds! This grasshopper doesn't know what is to come.First we spot him.The chicken goes in for the hunt. Yummy! What a treat!
Then it was time to shoo a few geese back into the chicken pen.
