The Best of the Rest of Washington State

Summer is flying by.  I am about a month behind on my posts, but I am pushing forward because I love to look back on the blog to see all of the family moments through the years.  The kids and I often sit and scroll through all of these memories, and I am shocked by how fast my babies are growing and changing.  Our last trip to Washington was five summers ago.  You can see the pictures here.  Caleb was three years old, and Abby was only one year old.  In fact right around the time of that trip, I never could have pictured the way life was about to unfold for our family.  Within the next five months, our family walked my mom through cancer and her death, which brought her home to heaven in December of 2010.  Exactly two years and one month later, my dad was swiftly taken away to Heaven as well.  Four years ago we received the joy of adding Luke to our family.  I've also seen the healing hand of God (through doctors) in correcting Luke's foot.  What a wonderful addition Luke is to our crew!

I suppose we tend to document life's highs on social media and on the blog, and there have been so many fun family memories of trips and birthdays and other celebrations.  Returning to Washington reminded me of how different life is now than it was five years ago.  I've experienced deep pain and sorrow, and through it all I've chosen to trust that God is good.  God has been a Comforter and a Provider.  He has taught me that He will sustain me through whatever life brings.  I love looking at these images through the years.  They help me to remember to cherish each of these moments and stages of life.

God is good all the time!  All the time God is good!

Now on the pictures!  We got to spend two fun days with Jon's cousins, aunts, and uncles during of trip.  We ate lunch at his cousin Leah's amazing farm!  Check out her cool tree swing!

 

We also got to spend a day on Lake Samish at Aunt Candy and Uncle Glen's lake house.  The kids loved riding behind the boat on the tube and fishing!  They certainly made special memories that day!

Canada

We took our kids on an adventure to Canada during our trip to Washington.  They got to ride a ferry and visit Butchart Gardens.   It was a long day, but we all enjoyed the trip.

Washington Beach Day #1

Washington 2015

Our family had a great time visiting family in Washington state last week.  The California and Waco Caprons rented a house together that backed up to the bay.  The kids had lots of fun exploring the rocky beaches and swimming in the unseasonably warm water.  The weather was hot for the locals, but it felt great to us!
