Luke finished 3 year old preschool at a party with me, his teachers, and his friends. He has learned a ton this year including how to write his name, how to cut with scissors, and how to carry his backpack like a big boy. His teachers kept making the comment of how much he has grown up since last August! He has spent the year with an obsession for Baylor sports, wearing a Baylor shirt every single day, and drawing picture after picture of the Baylor football stadium. Of course he has learned to spell the word Baylor this year too! When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Luke says that he would like to a player for all of the sports and a dad. With me working part time, Luke has gone to work with Jon some this year, and he adores it! He loves to play at the track, drink Gatorade, and be a part of the track crew.

End of the Year Festivities
This has been a great school year for our kids. We have had excellent teachers and made fun new friends in each of our classes.

Abby finished her Kindergarten year with a special speaking part in their end of the year Graduation Program. She was quite animated and excited in her practice time at home but was much more reserved when she performed in front of a full audience. I loved watching her say her sweet line: "Kindergarten has been a lot like a garden."
There has not been one day that Abby has not been enthusiastic about going to school this year. She LOVES school, and I have very much enjoyed hearing the girl perspective on life at Spring Valley. Many afternoons, she came home and played school with Luke. She has actually taught him quite a lot! Abby adored her teacher, Mrs. Chapman, and made some sweet friends from her class.
Last of all is my Caleb boy! He had a great year too. He doesn't share many facts with me, but he was happy this year and did very well in school. He ended the year with straight A's and is quite the reader! We are proud of him!

Blackberry Picking Fun
Last month we went to pick blackberries with our friends the McCarvers. We all got bug-sprayed up and went out to pick our berries. As we picked, we got to eat as many as we wanted. It was a great time had by all (until Abby turned up with the stomach bug that night!). The kids enjoyed each other, being out in nature, and the yummy blackberries!
Pictured are Hannah (finishing 3rd grade), Caleb and Caleb (finishing 2nd grade), Jacob and Abby (finishing Kindergarten in Mrs. Chapman's class together), Luke (finishing 3 year old preschool), and Elijah (2 years old).
