Abby at 15 Months Old

Abby is over 15 months old now! She has changed a lot since her last update at 13 months. We must have missed the fourteen month update because of the craziness of the move. Abby started walking at about 13 ½ months old. She spent awhile waddling around, but has become more proficient. However, we have noticed that she is sort of walking with her right foot facing out and with a bit of a drag on that right leg. This could be a sign of a hip problem, so we will have the pediatrician check this out at her 15 month appointment which happens to be tomorrow. I am trying to keep myself from worrying too much right now (and from googling my diagnosises). It is likely we will have x-rays done to check on things. Please pray for this situation.

Abby is happy in our new house. She and her big bro love to be in the backyard playing with their new water table or pushing around the play baby stroller. She is not easily entertained, but the backyard seems to be one place where she is happy to play by herself for awhile.

Abby is a cuddly girl! She loves to just sit with me and lean in to cuddle. Caleb wasn’t like this and still is not, so we are enjoying the hugs and kisses from Abby. Abby also loves to lay on whatever is soft. She loves to carry around the dog pillow and then lay down on it. She continues to be quite sensitive and will cry quite a lot if Jon corrects her harshly. However, she seems to test the limits. She doesn’t want to follow along with us at a store like Caleb did at this age. We put her down and tell her to follow, and she just runs the other way with no care in the world.

At Grammy and Granddaddy Pace’s house this past week, Abby was obsessed with the cat. She followed him around everywhere saying “da, daa”. She also really liked their dog and called him “daw, daw”. She is adding words to her vocabulary, but it seems that they all start with d! She is also saying “uh, uh” for up and “mamamamama” for more mama.

We will keep everyone updated on her doctor’s appointment. Thanks for praying!

New House Pictures

Several friends and family have asked for us to post some house pictures, so I took a few tonight. So if you care to see them, here they are, and if you don't care, keep scrolling to see some crazy Abby faces.
The Family Room: Note the table I painted. Love the splash of color it adds!
Abby's "I'm frustrated" face
The wall of pictures behind the couch. I know that it doesn't show much about the house, but I tried hanging these pictures on at least three different occasions before coming up with something I liked, so I AM posting this picture!Abby's smile. She is laughing at Caleb and Heidi chasing each other around the living room. Check out the pillows on the couch. They are covers for our old pillows that I worked on today. The playroom/office/den used to be dining room. This room will be painted someday. The guy who lived here before painted all of the trim dark brown and the ceiling a light gray color. Not what I would have picked!Abby made this face when I said Abby smile. Hopefully she will get better at this before she is old enough to go to prom :).

Lastly, here are two of our kitchen. Until last week the cabinets were a light almost pink looking oak, and it was covered in red floral wallpaper. This is a major improvement in my book! I will be watching/looking for ways to add in color that don't cost as much as granite countertops would! Maybe someday....
Abby's sweetie pie face! She loves to go and lay on anything soft. Here she was rolling around on the pillow fabric before I started sewing. She is a real wallow-er!

We are relishing in our backyard time while it is still spring in Texas. When the 100+ degree temperatures hit, at least we will have memories of enjoying our new backyard!
